
Students in Mrs. Bodenmiller's fourth grade class presented their final animal research projects to their classmates today. Each scholar described their animal, the threats to its survival, and how it is equipped to deal with them. Everyone did a great job!

The following students were recognized yesterday for their scholarship and character. Eagle Wings are given to students and staff in recognition of exhibiting the RCS Character Traits. Keep up the great work scholars!

Fall has arrived at RCS and the PK4 students aren't letting the beautiful weather go to waste. Students enjoyed playing in the giant leaf piles created by Mr. Graham. Every warm day is a gift in October!




RCS third and fourth grade students visited Chautauqua Lake CSD for a swimming adventure yesterday. Many of them shared that this was the best adventure ever. Our students are fortunate to have these partnerships and resources available to them!


Second grade students planned, designed, and built pollinators during science this week. They tested their work to see if they were able to successfully transfer "pollen" (flour) from one plate to the next! Great job scholars!




Things got messy during PK3 speech and OT enrichment time. Scholars used shaving cream to cover the fire and squirt bottles to "extinguish" it. Students also practiced using the /f/ sound for "fire". These scholars did a great job strengthening their hands and articulation.




During Mrs. Miller's Community Service recess, students created positive messages on the sidewalks, and also helped the building and grounds dept. by raking the leaves by the playground. Great job scholars!



Grade 4 has been learning all about crayfish during their science block. Students have identified the structures and behaviors of these crustaceans. They have also learned how these structures and behaviors help the crayfish survive. Great job scientists!




The following students were recognized on the Morning Announcements for their scholarship and character. Eagle Wings are given to students and staff in recognition of exhibiting the RCS Character Traits. Congratulations to these students for having their wings drawn.



Ms. Riley's class mailed their pen pal letters to Sherman's second grade today. Second grade student quote; "You know the old fashioned way." Great job scholars!



Today was our Emergency Drill Day at RCS. Students completed: a fire drill, a lock-down practice, a school bus safety course, as well as a go home early drill (10 min). A big thank you to all of the hands that help create a safe environment for our scholars to learn and thrive!



Mrs. Gestwicki's first grade students have been learning all about sound during Science. Students pictured below are building a sound wave model. Students have been learning that sound is created by vibration. Great job scholars!




There was a lot of excitement in 5th grade yesterday. Students added Guppies and Snails to their Fresh Water Aquariums. Biology, chemistry, ecology, and physics are just a few of the sciences involved in aquarium keeping. Great job scholars!




You may notice that your children are bringing home an Eagle Wing. Eagle Wings are given to students and staff in recognition of exhibiting the RCS Character Traits. The following scholars were recognized for their outstanding character this sunny morning at RCS.


This is a great set of free parenting classes for families that would like additional support dealing with common unwanted behaviors. All of the sessions are virtual and free. Check them out if you are looking for more tools for managing challenging behaviors at home.

We are excited to welcome students in grades K-6 back on Tuesday 9/7. The first day for all PK students will be Thursday 9/9. Breakfast will be served from 7:45 to 8:15 daily. The school day begins at 8:15. Dismissal will be at 3:20.
