
This morning we held a School-wide Crew celebration. We recognized several classes for their outstanding attendance, school spirit, and nightly reading. Additionally, I want to extend my warm congratulations to William Skinner for raising over $500 for the Kids Heart Challenge!




5th and 6th grade students are currently studying rocketry. To help illustrate the concept of thrust, students were given the opportunity to construct and race balloon rockets. This hands-on activity helped students better understand the principles of rocket propulsion.



First grade students have been learning about the lunar cycle during their science block. Any time you mix Oreos and science it's a winning combination. Great job scholars!




All of our students in grades K-6 received brand new books from the United Way on 4/28. Volunteers from the community visited to pass out books and read to the students. A big thank you goes out to the United Way as well as the community volunteers.

Second grade has been learning about weathering. Erosion is the geological process in which earthen materials are worn away and transported by natural forces such as wind or water. Last week students made volcanoes to see how Earth's surface sometimes changes quickly. Nice job!




Ms. Riley's second graders took advantage of the nice weather last week and completed their reading block out doors. They also learned that reading is fun anywhere. Great job scholars!




Fifth graders have been learning how to measure the volume of an object. Volume is the space occupied within the boundaries of an object, and can be found by multiplying the length, width, and height. Great job scholars!

Grade 4 students have been showing grit and teamwork during their Crew Time to construct forts. Reading a good book is always more fun in a fort!




PK3 student read "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" and then had a surprise visitor! Dawson's mom brought his pet goat, Taco. Taco was excited to meet new friends at school. This was a real hit with the kids and made the story even more fun.


Fifth and sixth graders used a ton of grit during their Adventure to the Flying Squirrel jump park today. Adventure can be any physical, artistic, or academic experience that involves risk, challenge, and discovery. Great job scholars!




Grade six students are one step closer with their transition to middle school at CLCS. Each of the students demonstrated a ton of grit to master the dreaded combination lock. Locks will be added to student lockers so that they can hit the ground running in the fall.




The following students were recognized this morning for their character and scholarship. Students that are caught demonstrating the Ripley Character Strengths receive Eagle Wings. This group of students had theirs pulled this morning. Great job scholars and keep up the good work!

Second grade had a great time on their skiing adventure! It was a first for everyone and required lots of Grit! Getting pushed out of their comfort zones wasn't easy but the smiles show it was worth it. Great job scholars!




PK Registration for the 2023-2024 year has begun. Parents may register their children by contacting the Guidance Office at 716-736-7232. To be eligible for the UPK Program, a child must turn three years old on or before December 1, 2023.
If you know of any neighbors or friends who have children of UPK3 or UPK4 age who might not see this notice, please inform them of our registration.
We will be offering tours and answering parent questions once the process begins. We look forward to meeting our youngest scholars and families.


Mr. James Lemanski visited our 4th Grade students to distribute American Flags. Mr. Lemanski shared what makes someone a veteran as well as how to honor and thank them. A big thank you goes out to the American Legion for providing this learning experience for our students.
